Words in Action: A Multilingual Student Performance

Come and join us in celebrating the 10th anniversary of Words in Action, our Spring celebration of world languages and cultures – a multilingual student performance, conceived to bring together the language communities on the Berkeley campus through theater, dance, music, and poetry and to offer students an alternative way to embody language performatively. Students have been presenting in 20+ languages since 2012. It’s an experience for all the senses and you don’t need to speak any of the languages to enjoy the show!

Join us in supporting our students and our diverse language community on the Berkeley campus! Participation in the event is open to any UC Berkeley student taking a language course at any level.

This year students of Italian Studies will present “Mediterraneo: Casa mia, casa tua“, a celebration of multicultural Italy focusing on the theme of Italian identity, inclusion, and the meaning of home. With songs by Ghali, Mahmood, and Måneskin we hope to bring to our audience a critical reflection on border politics, social equality and counter-culture through our performance.

Durham Studio Theater (Dwinelle Hall) on April 12th, 3-6:30pm!
